Taken by Lilith Saintcrow (Harlequin Nocturne, 2011)

4.5 Stars! A thoroughly enjoyable read! This is my first Lilith Saintcrow book, and I will definitely be looking into her back-list.  As I was reading this book, I had many ideas of what I was going to say, but failed to take notes.  Anyways, it was quite an engaging story and I hope Saintcrow visits this world again!

Copied Blurb:

Sophie never believed she was special. Avoiding a violent ex she can't remember the last time she truly felt safe. Then vampires murder her best friend and Sophie is kidnapped by a dangerously sexy shape-shifter. Zach insists that Sophie is a Shaman—someone with a rare gift for taming his savage side—and he needs her to help him save his pack. Now with a malevolent enemy closing in Sophie and Zach must risk everything on a bond that may be their only salvation….

Shadow's Caress by Patti O'Shea (Harlequin Nocturne Bite, 2011)

4 Stars! A curious tale of vampire hunting gone awry...in a most interesting way.  Funny in the beginning, suspenseful and fast paced towards the end.

Copied Blurb:

Former vampire hunter Cass Lanier didn't think vampires could become ghosts...until the shade of Malachi James comes to her, arousing her with his erotic touch. Malachi was the last vampire she killed—an act she always regretted. Now Cass is his only hope of being brought back to life.
Then Cass discovers Malachi isn't the only one following her. Other hunters have learned she can resurrect the vampires she put to death, and they want to kill her first. Will Cass survive long enough to save Malachi and finally experience her phantom lover's caresses as pleasures of the flesh?

Vampire in Her Mysts by Meagan Hatfield (Harlequin Nocturne Bites, 2011)

3 Stars!  While I really loved a previous book by Hatfield, this novella did not quite work for me.  I didn't get why they were attracted to one another.  I also wanted a little more story.

Copied Blurb:

Bounty hunters had wounded and abandoned him in the Mysts a dark haven for the supernatural. But vampire Yuri Feodorovna thinks he has found the key to survival when he sees Ileana Tarasova a beautiful servant of the Goddess. Yuri is filled with desire at the sight of her tantalizing body...though it is a desire with a dangerous undercurrent of hunger. He cannot resist his need to feed and possess Ileana just as she cannot help the way her body responds with eagerness and lust at his touch... But will Yuri still want Ileana when he learns her deadly secret?

Copied Blurb:

Some things just won’t stay buried… at grave’s end.
It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield’s life. With her undead lover, Bones, at her side, she’s successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat’s worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover’s finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.
As if that wasn’t enough, a woman from Bones’ past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat’s about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she’s learned as a special agent won’t help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.
Love in vein: listen to more novels in the Night Huntress series.
